12/12 – The Conversations You’ve Always Wanted to Have w/musical guest Franz Nicolay!

I’m very glad to be back from sunny, boring Los Angeles so we can get TCGS back up and running. And this week we want to give you the chance to HAVE THE CONVERSATIONS YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE.

Here’s how it works – you call us up and tell us about a conversation you’ve always wanted to have, and we’ll go ahead and have it with you on the air. So let’s say you’re like “There’s this girl I’ve always wanted to ask out but I get too nervous to do it. She looks kind of like Bethany. Will Bethany play that girl and we can do a dry run?” We’ll do that. Maybe you’re like “I always wanted to confess to this kid in my neighborhood that I stole his Transformers, but he moved before I got the chance.” Maybe Shannon O’Neill can be that kid and you can confess and she’ll react how she thinks he would have. Anything goes – if you can think up the conversation, call us up, assign us roles, give us a quick backstory and we’ll do our damndest to live up to everything you want that conversation to be. We want to give you insight, catharsis, and stupidity as we play the roles of different people you’ve encountered in your life and have theoretical conversations with you in character as those people via the magic of the public access phone system.

On top of that lunacy, we’re very excited to have FRANZ NICOLAY as our musical guest. Not only is Franz a fantastic solo performer, but he’s performed with and produced for seemingly every interesting and cool musical act to come out of the New York region in recent memory. From The Hold Steady to The World Inferno Friendship Society to the Dresden Dolls to our old friends The Debutante Hour, he is a proven and total badass in the New York music scene and we couldn’t be more psyched to have him join us at TCGS.

** This will be our first week at our new digs. The old studio is under renovation so we’re heading up to East Harlem to put on a show. We’ll see how it goes! **

Psyched.  It's been a while since there's been a call-in show.
