beba_nema - Carissa's Wierd is soon to be on my mp3 player - thanks
Rob - Ditto on Future of the Left. They're one of the only bands I can think of that are legitimately funny. Somewhere on youtube there's a great video I always think of where they're talking about Avenged Sevenfold - "I just want to know what they're avenging seven times... The things that bug me the most, I'll avenge maybe... twice?"

We Versus The Shark have been my favorite band for probably four years now, which is a shame since they've been broken up for about that same length of time. It's one of those things where I have to force myself not to listen to their albums too often so I won't get tired of them. Anyways, they're dance-punk or math-rock I guess... something hyphenated, anyway.

Bear Vs. Shark was a band from Michigan who never got the props they deserve. Here's a song from their second album that can only be described as a manic. Their singer also has a great voice.

I loved them! And I definitely didn't hear about them until right around when they broke up.

Race Car Riot is the best band in the world who only released 7 songs. Mostly instrumental, all of their songs have a good dynamic well put together structure highlighted by amazing guitar work.

first here are the three tracks from a 3.way split with The Appleseed Cast and Planes Mistaken for Stars:
Broken
Raincheck
Racing California (personal favorite)

and the rest of discography (there is no justice in this world (yea i know i'm overly dramatic) (yey for parenthesis))
Discontinued
The Last in 4000
Bad Connection
13.33.17

I was born on the arse-end of the eighties, and it seemed that my dad's musical taste froze at 1982, so I drowned in two-tone, punk (more aware less aaaawwwaaaaarrrrgh) and 70's rock. I fucking love music, it can change anything around.

Past few years I've been on the Bomb the Music Industry wagon, it's that fun step between ska and every other genre. . The release before last http://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur038.htm was recorded mixed and released in ten days, and is free. Female vocals are Laura Stevenson

Descendents, are one of the bands that has four different era's, Milo has been using the term Nerdcore since the early 80's. Without Descendents we probably wouldn't have The Ergs, which is blasphemy.

Andrew Jackson Jihad/ The Gunshy. Two variations on the same theme, the below tracks are a recording with
both bands sharing musicians. Both these are primary folkish but less beardy campfire, more Bob Dylan meets Chuck Ragan

The Gunshy is beautiful music, like if Tom Waits spent less time wanking at a piano. Andrew Jackson Jihad is a two piece that is sharp as fuck, but seems to have a lot of songs that could be seen as cause for a search warrant.

I managed to somehow avoid a lot of 90's US punk, due to living in the UK most of it was drowned out by 3rd wave ska.

TT, give a shout to our boys Saves The Day!

Constant love goes to The Walkmen, especially their album You & Me.

And my buddy Owen from Advance Base and formerly Casiotone For The Painfully Alone is playing near me soon. I'd youtube some videos of song but can't right now. Check out Casiotone's album Etiquette. So great.

Can never forget the Saves! Best dudes!

Also, The Get Up Kids. One of my favorites to see live.

You forget lovers who've lost their way.
