Yeah, that textile job sounds really cool!

I don't know how to get/keep a real job so I'm a grad student (ugh) and freelance writer for AV Club and some other sites.

"Oh, you know. I just sometimes write for the AV Club. No big deal."

Uh...that's actually pretty awesome. And so much better than a real job. You may knock grad school now, but you'll miss it.

Sometimes I really miss having a grad school schedule, but then I remember that I never have to do homework or write papers anymore...

JonesTown - I genuinely appreciate your enthusiasm over a rug covered in old dog pee!

Also, as predicted, I still have the most boring job here.

JonesTown - your job sounds headspinningly amazing. Please come on the show and tell us what all the stains in the MNN studio rugs are.

I don't know. Imagine this. Yesterday I was sitting in a room by myself teaching online. There were 6 students. I was teaching them Outlook. The email program. None of them talked or chatted in the chat box. None of them were even participating with the exercises (I can see their screens). So I just talked and talked for like 6 hours about Outlook with no feedback. It was so insanely boring and pointless and soul-crushing. Sometimes when I teach online I wonder if they're even there. They could have just left the room and I wouldn't even know.

You should test out that theory. Throw in a few facts like "Outlook was created by an emperor in the early 18th century who used the program to communicate with his army of dinosaurs." (This is what my desk job is doing to my head).

That does sound pretty awful, but I'm not yet convinced that you won this contest (of most bored, disillusioned 20-something).

Pilot, The AV Club is like my primary news source, that is awesome that you freelance for them! And I just stopped being a grad student, I know that score. Now I just have to finish my thesis....

Gethard, after sitting on that rug several times I'm going to guess that it's got lots of New York sidewalk dirt and ass sweat. And maybe a little Surströmming juice.

Oh no, I LOVE writing for them and still can't believe that I do. I just mean it's impossible to pay rent doing it.

I was hoping you were going to say you were a pilot. Oh well, the AV Club is cool too, I guess...

(jk I basically worship the AV Club. That's amazing!)

I'm studying Psychology and have a part time job where I run experiments with other students. No electric shocks or Stanford Prison experiments but rather boring tasks on the computer.
