Hey guys,
Just wanted to write a quick post about my upcoming hiatus from the TCGS Crew.
Most of you don't have a clue who I am, but I work on the crew every week to help make the show happen.
I'm also a college student and will be spending this spring semester abroad in London, which means I'll be taking about a 5 month hiatus from working on the show. And it kills me. (Obviously I'm excited about London—that's not what this is about)
So much of my week is spent looking forward to 10pm Wednesday nights when we start setting up mics and chairs and cameras in preparation for another hour of organized chaos and celebrated loserdom. To think that I'll be away from it all for 5 months is really difficult and I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you guys for being a part of this community. The TCGS community is so fucking incredible because people from around NYC, the USA, and the world come together under a common flag and have an awesome time—and we support each other. I'm so in love with what Gethard, and really all of us, have built here.
I'm sad to be leaving, but even though I won't be there to work, and even though I won't always get to watch the show live, I'll never feel as if I've completely left the TCGS community, because the TCGS community is so global it's not even funny. So thank you, everybody, for making Wednesday nights the best part of my week. Thank you for making this community so vibrant and loving. And thanks to Gethard, Noah, Dru and JD for letting me come back and work each week.
I love you all—and I don't even know most of you—how weird is that?? TCGS weird. That's how weird it is.
