Hey guys - in the new year, TCGS will be making a number of live appearances all over the country! These are chances to come out, see our bonkers live endeavors, and meet your favorite members of the TCGS gang live and in person. Here's the rundown of what we've got going so far.
NEW YORK - Thursday, 1/17 - THE WEIRDEST BANDS WE KNOW - a month or so ago, we had our first ever concert featuring all bands who have appeared on our show and I think anyone who attended would tell you it was a super fun party. It went down the week of Hurricane Sandy and even with a gas shortage, no trains, and limited electricity, we had close to 100 people make their way to Gowanus. This next one promises to be even bigger, more badass, and more fun. We all danced to some of our favorite musical friends, and we gave away a lot of swag and candy and had a ball. This next show is ALL AGES, and takes place at the great venue Death by Audio in Williamsburg. It's gonna be a real fun time and you should come out! We've got CLAIRE'S DIARY, ELECTRIC MONDAY, DOLCHNAKOV BRIGADE, and TCGS darling MAL BLUM all confirmed to appear on the show. BOSTON - Saturday, 1/19 - THE POOL SHOW w/UNION SQUARE ROUNDTABLE - Our friends at the Union Square Roundtable, one of Boston's best comedy shows, have rented an insane facility that includes a pool, climbing wall, and basketball cage. We're gonna roll right up the east coast with a whole bunch of TCGS regulars to see what happens when you take a show that's as bonkers as ours usually is and put it in a place where you can scale the walls and also potentially drown. This one is gonna be really nuts and we hope if you're in New England you'll come say hi to us! SAN FRANCISCO - Friday, 2/1 AS PART OF SAN FRAN SKETCHFEST - I'm super psyched to announce that TCGS has been invited to perform at the prestigious San Fran Sketchfest! This one is gonna be huge for TCGS and a big weekend for Gethard fans in general. The Chris Gethard Show is on February 1st at 8PM at the Eureka Theater - ticket info on that and all Sketchfest shows is at http://sfsketchfest.com/x/shows/schedule/#day9 . Gethard will also be in the cast of Asssscat at the festival, and will also be two headlining stand up sets on February 1st and 2nd as part of the Sketchfest Dozens program. It's gonna be a great weekend of comedy and we hope that we can pow wow with our west coast fans as we celebrate this weekend together.
AUSTIN - Monday, 3/11 AS PART OF SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST - We're so honored to return to South by Southwest for the second year in a row. Last year we had an amazing time performing on a trade show floor where we saw some insane moments - those tech/app salesmen were completely baffled at the sight of Connor Ratliff wrestling the Human Fish in his underwear, and us leading a parade on the trade show floor to "The Human Fish Loves Cock". This year we're staging the show at the IFC Stage, which is a super cool gesture on the part of the network that's adopted me. The date is tentative and subject to change, but we're very happy to bring our gang out for more mayhem and partying in the center of one of the best cities in the world.
I'll add more to this list as they come in - we have a few other potential irons in the fire as far as traveling goes. In the meantime, let me know if you're coming out - I want to really pound the pavement, mobilize our fan base, and meet as many people as possible as we spend the next months taking TCGS coast to coast!
